The plane carrying 199 land deportees while Caracas agrees to circumvent the American repression of foreign nationals.

A plane carrying 199 expelled people from the United States landed in Venezuela, while President Donald Trump continues his repression against foreign nationals.

Arriving via Honduras, the plane approached Monday at Maiectia International Airport outside the capital of Venezuela, Caracas. It was the last of a series of repatriations accepted by Venezuela since January.

“Today, we receive 199 compatriots,” said Venezuela Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello at the airport.

Living images have shown that young men in tracks disembarking from the plane. Some were seen smiling and applause while the officials looked at.

Venezuela announced that it had entered into an agreement with the United States on Saturday to resume theft of repatriation after a two-week dead end.

“Flights are resuming,” Cabello said at the airport. “We are ready to receive the Venezuelans wherever they are.”

The expulsion pipeline was suspended last month. Trump said Venezuela did not live an agreement to quickly receive expelled migrants. Caracas then declared that he would no longer accept flights.

Washington then expelled 238 Venezuelans whom he accused of belonging Tren of Aragua Gang, which the Trump administration has appointed a “foreign terrorist organization”, to a maximum security prison in El Salvador.

This decision, which used a 200-year-old law, allowing us to hold or expel the non-citizens in wartime, shocked many discussions and aroused discussions on constitutional rights while Washington has expressed despite a legal decision-making. He was also deeply criticized by Caracas.

Relations with relations

The Trump administration has sent Venezuelan deportees to third countries from Central America “because the United States has no decent relations with Venezuela,” said Clive Stafford Smith, a human rights lawyer, said Al Jazeera.

During the last month, Venezuela accepted around 350 deportees, including around 180 prisoners at the American naval base in Guantanamo BayCuba, for 16 days.

However, Trump said that last month, President Nicolas Maduro had not accepted migrants expelled “at a rapid pace” agreed. He too permission revoked So that the oil giant Chevron operates in Venezuela – a blow to the wobbly economy of Caracas.

The difficulties reflect long -standing tensions in relations.

The United States and Venezuela broke diplomatic relations in 2019, during Trump’s first term, after Washington recognized the opposition leader of the time, Juan Guaido, as “acting president” following elections largely rejected as neither free nor equitable.

Maduro nevertheless maintained his grip on power, and the administration of Joe Biden softened the sanctions against Venezuelan oil in the context of an agreement for American prisoners and a promise to hold free elections. These promised reforms have never come.

Washington did not recognize Maduro’s re -election last year to a third year of six years during a vote, he was largely accused of flying.

In 2022, there were 275,000 unauthorized Venezuelan immigrants in the United States, according to estimates by the Pew Research Center.
