The Final Weekend Wrap – By Randall Eliason

Dear Side bars Subscribers:

It is an envelope for The weekend envelope.

Now that the elections are behind us, I will publish less frequently. My wife and I head for retirement next year and I plan to spend more time to travel, to visit my grandchildren and other activities. I will always post here from time to time on various white collar subjects, but it will not be a regular schedule.

A key goal of The weekend envelope was a weekly update on the various Trump prosecution. As I explained in this post last week, all these cases are disappearing now, in one way or another:

The rule of law was on the ballot. He lost.

The rule of law was on the ballot. He lost.

Friday: Friday, judge Chutkan to DC granted Jack Smith’s request to leave all the current deposit deadlines and to suspend the case while him and the Ministry of Justice determine what to do next. He must submit a report with her by December 2. But as I discussed in this post, Trump’s federal proceedings are dead – the only unknown is the details of the funeral. As for state prosecution, the worst case is that they are also dead, and the best case is that they are delayed by four years.

I am sure that Trump and his administration will continue to be a great source of equipment for a writer on white collar crime. But there will be no need for a regular weekly report on his criminal affairs.

Notice to paid subscribers: Thank you very much for your support, I am very grateful. But since I will not publish regularly, I do not feel well by asking people to pay to subscribe. I turn out to the “paying subscriber” option and in next week, I will convert all the paid subscriptions to free products. If you have paid on an annual basis, you should receive a pro-faca refund. Please let me know if you have any questions or problems in this regard.

If you are interested in following me on social networks for more frequent and concise comments, I should let you know that I leave X – The site formerly known as Twitter. Elon Musk ruined this platform. You can find and follow me Threads and on Bluesky At the same handle – RDELIASON. I hope to see you there.

Thank you for your loyalty and your support! I hope you will continue to enjoy Side bars. As always, I salute your comments and suggestions on the blog or potential subjects.

All my wishes,

Randall
