Barrio Azteca Boss who coordinated Juarez's drug expeditions to El Paso obtained 12 years in prison

A leader in the Azteca district Gang was sentenced to court last month to 12 years in prison. Salvador “Ardilla” Garcia-Garcia, 56, from Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, had pleaded guilty to an offense of racketeering influenced and corrupt on the organization (Rico).

Garcia-Garcia was responsible for coordinating the expedition of Juarez's heroine in El Paso for Barrio Azteca Gang. He conducted the junction of juarez drugs from August 1, 2010 to September 10, 2014, recruiting other members and partners to pass the heroine to El Paso for him.

On September 10, 2014, Garcia-Garcia was charged with seven charges, including the conspiracy to carry out the business of a company by a model of racket activity, the murder in favor of a racket activity, three accusations of distinct drug trafficking, a conspiracy to whiten monetary instruments and transfer a fire to a prohibited person.

He was arrested by the federal authorities on June 20, 2024 and pleaded guilty to the accusation of Rico on April 7, 2025.

Eighteen of the Co-Defenders of Garcia-Garcia have been convicted in the case since 2016. In June 2017, Barrio Azteca, Juan Pablo Espino, was treated simultaneously with sentences of almost 25 years and 20 years of imprisonment for a chief of conspiracy to carry out the affairs of a company through a model of racet activity and a charming charge.
