The 1993 emblematic crowd film “A bronx tale“Based on the autobiographical show by Chazz Palteri, tells the story of the young Calogero (played by a Lillo Brancato Pre-Felonious; more on him here), who rejects the values of the working class of his loving father (Robert de Niro, who also directed) while falling with Sonny, the local boss of the Mafia (Palminteri) who governs his element of the New York district under a lamp in the corner of Belmont Avenue and 187th Street.

A bronx tale – This year marks the film 30th anniversary – TRansformed Palminister in one of the best tough hard collaboration in Hollywood. And although the film was generally congratulated by the criticism and appreciated by the public, it did not break any record of the box office and ended up blocking the career of DE NIRO for more than a decade. Nevertheless, a bronx tale is a favorite of fans who has more than gained a place in the Hall of Fame of gang gender films (alongside classics such as “The Godfather”, “Goodfellas” and “Donnie Braco”).

The passionate project of Palminteri has since known a new life as a musical, a book and, more recently, inspiration for a new line of cigars.

“I am not a big cigar smoker, but I wanted to help with this idea,” said Paltinteri about the cigar line. “The product is really dedicated to my grandfather Calogero, and to all the immigrants who came to this country at the time. The Italians, the Jews, the Greeks, the Irish and so on to make a better life for children. I knew Pauly and his father when I grew up here and I felt good to offer my support. ”

Pauly Disalvo, the owner of Casa Grande Cigars on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, developed the idea of launching a line of cigars in collaboration with the film. As his grandfather was friends close to Chazz, he was able to collaborate with the actor / writer himself to make the idea a reality.

“Seven years ago, I approached (Chazz) with this idea of creating a line of cigars, and it was everything for that. We went to Epic Cigars, a distributor, and they put the line to another level in the world and we could not be happier, “said Pauly.

The Casa Grande manufactures the mixture for cigar and Epic manufactures the product.

Pauly also seeks to create another special cigar line with Martin Kove of the film “Coba Kai” with the provisional title “No Mercy”.

A recent event on Arthur Avenue to celebrate the launch of the Bronx Tale Cigar offered a taste of the “old”. Attracted women and men dressed as if they were ready for roles on foot in the sopranos, all swollen on bronx tale cigars.

The event was filled with fans and celebrities, including Katherine Narducci (The Sopranos, A Bronx Tale) and Sophia Milos (The Sopranos).

Martin Kove was also on site. “I was in Louisville by turning a film and I was heading for New York. Pauly, who is one of my friends, knew that I came to New York and invited me with my sons. I love New York, I’m from Brooklyn. And when I come here, I also like to take a theater. It’s great to be here and support Pauly. ”

Dean Parsons Epic cigars founded In 2010, after going to the Dominican Republic to promote a single cigar. He worked with Master Blender Rolando Antonio Villamil for years to learn the profession of the creation of good cigars through the cultivation of tobacco, aging, fermentation and the art of mixing premium cigars. Therefore, his new business with Casa Grande Cigars in the Bronx.
