The eldest girl of the deceased Cosa Sicilien Nostra The Salvatore boss “Toto” Riina is the subject of an investigation for an allegation of extortion, the Italian authorities said on Friday. Maria Concetta Riina and her husband Antonino Ciavarello would have extorted money using mafia methods from two Toscian businessmen. Now, before thinking, she ran a racket of several million dollars like her deceased father, think again.
The beast
Also known as “The Beast”, Salvatore Riina has increased in power out of pure terror. He directed his Corleonesi On a bloody path towards the summit of the Sicilian mafia as it curlved all its rivals in the submission by intimidation, betrayal and cold blood murder.

At its peak, Riina checked thousands of men and made hundreds of millions by drug trafficking, extortion and countless other crimes. His reign of terror quickly extended from his enemies from the crowd to the threats perceived within the government, while his killers were wasted with journalists, prosecutors, police and politicians.
The biggest shock, literally, came when his men exploded a bomb under a Sicilian highway, killing the famous anti-mafia magistrate Giovanni FalconeHis wife and three police officers in 1992.
Riina’s thirst for blood had gone too far and Italy organized a manhunt to find the boss of the Fugitive Mafia. He was captured in January 1993 and sentenced to more than twenty life mandates for his role in many crimes and murders, including that of Falcone.
He died in 2017 when he purges his sentence. He was 87 years old.
From an online store to extortion
Her daughter Maria Concetta attended her father’s funeral. She was proud of her inheritance. She and Ciavarello launched a website selling goods, such as coffee, celebrating “Toto” Riina, calling “uncle” in Sicilian dialect.
After the authorities closed the site, Maria Concetta posted on Facebook: “The lion is injured, but not dead. Soon, he will reproduce and continue to fight … as he has always done, always! ”

A worrying message that could be interpreted in several ways. Obviously, she had not finished.
Prosecutors say that Maria Concetta and her husband would have extorted a grocery store worth 150 euros and 1,000 in cash of two businessmen in Florence, Tuscany. She would have declared to one of the victims: “We are always the same as we are, people do not change.”
It is a typical mafia method, okay.
She did it mainly by her lonely because her husband could not go out at the time. He served six months for fraud committed in 2009 in Termini Imerese near Palermo. Using a mobile phone, he was able to send his wife and the two messages of businessmen. The tone probably differs depending on the person at the reception.
Mafia sons and daughters
It is not easy to grow as a mafioso. It doesn’t matter to be the child of one of the bosses of the most notorious crime that the world has ever seen. But the children of Riina, above all, had a lot of trouble starting.
Giovanni Francesco, the second child in Riina, is serving a perpetuity prison sentence for four murders he committed between 1995 and 1996.
Giuseppe Salvatore, the third born, was recently sentenced to one year of work for having violated his parole. He joined forces with drug traffickers. Not an intelligent idea. Not only because of his conditions of parole, but also because he has a habit of cocaine. Giuseppe Salvatore was sentenced and imprisoned for almost nine years in accusations of extortion, money laundering and mafia.

He also wrote a book on his life and his infamous father entitled “Riina – Family Life” and, just like his sister Maria Concetta, has become active on social networks.
