The results of Jharkhand’s assembly are a mixed bag of surprises for turncoats in the survey scrum. As a count for the Assembly of 81 places is underway on Saturday (November 23, 2024), the first trends indicate that most of the turncoats that have gone from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) dragging in their respective seats, while those who have gone from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or its ally are all the rings.

Results of the elections of Jharkhand 2024 live updates

Before the Lok Sabha survey recently concluded and this assembly survey, some of the big names of the JMM to go to the BJP are the ex-CM Champai Soren, his son Babulal Soren, Sita Soren (wife of JMM-in-chief Sobu Soren’s wife, Durga Soren) and ex-CM Madhu Koda, Geetha Koda.

On the other hand, some of the best leaders of the BJP to jump the ship to the Indian block are Hemlal Murmu – ex -MP of Rajmahal who went to JMM in 2023, the former deputy Ajsu Mla Umakant Rajak and the former Mla Janki Prasad Yadav. Jaiprakash Patel, which went from JMM to BJP in 2019, is also in Jaiprakash Patel, which went from JMM to BJP in 2019 and now in Congress.

How do the tags take place?

Champai Soren

The bastion will bewella, the minister of former Minister Chief, Champai Soren, favored it because he leads 8,542 votes to the Ganesh Mahali of the JMM. Since his visit to the BJP, Mr. Soren has faced the anger of his peers JMM after accused Mr. Hemant Soren of “withdrawn him with insult from the CM post”. Mr. Soren and Mr. Mahali faced each other previously in 2014 and 2019 and Mr. Soren had prevailed. Mr. Mahali, who himself jumped from the BJP to the JMM before this survey, should lose against Mr. Soren for the third time, although with switched loyalties.

Sita Soren

Going from its current headquarters Jama to Jamtara, the daughter-in-law from the Soren family, Sita (Murmu) Soren, is being threatened by the outgoing deputy. She drags 14,495 votes behind the Irfan Ansari of the Congress. She had gone to the BJP after falling with the Soren family on the president of the chief minister after Mr. Hemant Soren resigned from the post.

Geetha Koda

The head of the Congress who became BJP, Geetha Koda, who joined the Saffron Party a few days before the survey, faces a difficult fight for Jagannathpur. In search of her third non -consecutive quarter, Ms. Koda is followed by 1,006 votes behind Sona Ram Sinku of Congress. Apart from Mr. Sinku, the Jharkhand Lokterik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM) Lakshmi Narayan Laguri drags more than 13, 079 votes.

Babulal Soren

Son of former chief minister Champai Soren, Babulal Soren, who jumped the ship to the BJP with his father, is followed by 1,500 votes behind Ram Das Soren by Jmm de Ghatsila. Mr. Ram Das Soren held the headquarters twice (2009, 2019) and is looking for a third term.

HEMLAL MURMU

Hemlal Murmu, the deputy for Rajmahal du BJP who lost his previous survey in 2019, joined the JMM in 2023 and was appointed spokesperson for the party. Mede to be ignored, the outgoing deputy of the JMM, Dinesh William Marandi, threatened to challenge independently when Mr. Murmu was chosen but finally abandoned his plans. Mr. Murmu is now in the lead by 9,832 votes against the BABUDHAN MURMU of the BJP.

Umakant Rajak

In Chandankiyari, the AJSU chief who became JMM, Umakant Rajak, is leading 4,660 votes against Arjun Rajwar of the JLKM. Mr. Rajak went to the JMM after the BJP renovated his double deputy Amit Kumar Bauri.

JANKI PRASAD YADAV

The head of the BJP, Janki Prasad Yadav, who had lost the 2019 polls against the independent deputy Amit Yadav, went to the JMM before the ballot. He now leads Barkatha by 5 197 votes against Amit Kumar Yadav from the BJP. Since 2009, these two candidates have won this headquarters, which consecutively argued the BJP, the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha de Babulal Marandi and independent tickets.

Jaiprakash

In Mandu, the son of the JMM veteran, the son of Tek Lal Mahto, Jaiprakash Patel leads to the Congress ticket by 7,098 votes against the Nirmal Mahto of the AJSU. Mr. Patel had first left JMM in 2019 and won the Mandu on the BJP ticket. Now he went to the congress when the BJP gave the AJSU the seat in accordance with the seats sharing formula.

Election campaign

Led by the outgoing chief minister Hemant Soren, the Indian block launched a defensive campaign against the BJP, who had courted several JMM leaders to his fold. The electoral campaign was a divisor while the BJP accused the coalition led by the JMM of thinking of “power and money”, by soaring Muslims and by triggering hooliganism.

With a meticulous examination of central agencies, the JMM and the Congress accused the BJP of caps of hood, of communalism and have sworn not to leave the uniform civil code and the national register of citizens to be implemented in Jharkhand. The State recorded a participation rate of 67.74% in the two phases in which the survey took place peacefully, on November 13 and 20.
