Carmen “The Cheeseman” Dinunzio, the renowned boss of the Patriarca crime family, died. He was 68 years old.

The Boston Mobster for a long time was born on August 17, 1957 and “died peacefully” on Sunday, according to a Bishop published online.

Dinunzio has increased in the ranks of the Patriarca crime family, leader of illegal game and loan operations for the mafia. In the mid -2000s, he had been appointed Underboss and was considered the best member of Boston of the crime family named the late Raymond Ls Patriarca of Providence, according to FBI documents deposited before the courts.

Dinunzio helped in various positions of management after the former renowned boss Luigi “Baby Shacks” Manocchio resigned in the middle of a federal investigation into him shaking the Providence Strip-Tease clubs for protective payments. Mannochio, who died last year, was charged in 2011 and sentenced to federal prison.

The nickname of Dinunzio, “The Cheeseman”, stems from its longtime property of a cheese dairy in the north of Boston. He resumed the management of the broken and dysfunctional crimes family about eight years ago.

Dinunzio has been faced with his own legal problems over the years, in particular corruption charges for having pretended to have united those responsible for obtaining a several million dollars contract linked to the “Big Dig” project in Boston. He finally served five years in federal prison.

Dinunzio's death indicates a broader leadership vacuum within the crime family, which has lost a large part of its power and influence over the past two decades. Edward “Eddie” Lato, which served as a sub-discussion of Providence, died last year.

The Boston FBI office discreetly dissolved its crime unit organized last December, according to a Boston Globe report.

Dinunzio is survived by several family members, including his brother Anthony Dinunzio, who is also a renowned member of the New England crime family.
