A federal judge in Raleigh, North Carolina, has sanctioned the state Department of Justice, accusing one of its prosecutors of filing a frivolous motion to delay trial in an unlawful detention lawsuit, while noting that this is not the first time the office has “tested the patience” of the federal judiciary.
