Earlier this week, the El Salvador Legislative Assembly voted to abolish the limits of the presidential mandate. This could allow President Nayib Bukele, to seek re-election indefinitely, but what does that mean for the fight against organized crime and the rule of law?

Since 2022, Bukele has supervised a Ruthless gang cromUsing emergency powers to do anything except to eliminate MS13 And District 18 in Salvador. But while more than 85,000 people have been detained, few have been tried and regular procedure has actually been abandoned.
