A senior member of the violent gang of Jugg de Washington DC was sentenced Tuesday to 35 years in prison. Broadus Jamal Daniels, 30, was found guilty last year in connection with accusations of drugs and firearms linked to a drug trafficking plot.

Daniels, who goes by the nickname “Wardy,” was found guilty by a federal jury on September 16, 2024, of Possessing Machine Guns in Foutherance of Drug Trafficking, Unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, conspiracy to distribute more than 100 kilograms of marijuana, Distributes Marijuana, Unlawful Possession of Machine Guns, and Possessing Firearms in Support for drug trafficking.

“Big Mummy”

According to the evidence presented at the trial, Daniels, was a “great homie” or a senior member of the gang jugg, or “jg”. In August 2018, the Gang Jugg became an ally with a neighboring DC street team known as “Push Dat Shit” or “PDS”. PDS maintained a gang territory in blocks 3300-3500 of Wheeler Road, South-East and adjacent areas, and has operated an outdoor drug market outside a grocery store located on the 3500 block of Wheeler Road, southeast.

Between August 2018 and April 2023, the members of the crew combined PDS / JG Street sold drugs from the festival market and “trap houses” which they kept in apartments surrounding this location.

As their drug activity grew up, PDS / JG became the target of the wheel drive made by rival gangs – shootings they called “turn the block”. From August 2019, a PDS / JG member began to assemble Ar-Pistol assault rifles from kits bought from online retailers and modified them to be able to fully automatic fire. These firearms are defined as “private firearms” by ATF but are often called “ghost pistols” in the street.

As has been proven at the trial, the members of PDS / DG used, carried and possessed these Arpistol-Pistolets machine guns to defend their territory against rival gangs, as well as to “run the block” on rival gangs to dissuade their rivals from entering the PDS / JG territory.

Current survey

This conviction is part of a joint investigation in progress which resulted in 26 convictions and the seizure of two vehicles, 35 firearms, four machine guns, more than 1,000 ammunition cartridges, around 60 pounds of marijuana, 41 grams of cocaine basis, dozens of oxycodone pills and about $ 500,000 in cash.

Daniels’ co-defender, Andre Alonte Willis, who was a leader of PDS, was sentenced on February 20, 2025, to 20 years in prison for five crime convictions linked to drug trafficking and firearms.
